What should you do if you want to take action after watching the film?

We know that many of you will be moved to action after watching Into Dust. What you can do differs depending on where you are and what you do. It could mean donating to an organization doing this work locally, taking action against climate change (for example via the Count Us In Campaign), understanding how your government representatives manage water related issues and vote accordingly or use your voice in support of local initiatives addressing water solutions. Here are some suggestions:

CIVIL SOCIETY (YOU AND ME)
  • Sign up to Host a screening for your community and have a discussion with your community using our screening guide that includes background information, discussion prompts, and suggested action steps. 

  • Donate to OPP,  to help us preserve Perween Rahman’s legacy. OPP is one of the world’s most successful community-owned, community-managed, low-cost infrastructure programs that has been cited as a global best practice by development and academic institutions around the world.

  • Join the Count Us In Campaign/Water Action Decade.

  • Understand your water footprint

  • Share information about the film on social media and with your networks.

PRIVATE SECTOR
  • Host a screening for internal stakeholders and key decision makers. Use the Private Sector screening guide to help steer the discussion,

  • Learn about the CEO Water Mandate

  • Do a water audit of your business to assess how much water your business is using each day and how much you can save and identify conservation opportunities and savings.

  • Include those directly affected by water scarcity in your conversations around sustainable practices.

GOVERNMENT
  • Make public statements in support of UN SDG 6 and promote your actions and commitments. Codify UN SDG 6 in national laws and policies,

  • Co-host a screening for other policymakers and civil society members; promote dialogue among leaders, experts, influencers, and innovators. 

  • Direct public funding to water programs and mobilize new financing for water management. 

  • Include the voices of those most affected in the conversations and solutions.
